Atlantic City Expansion Overview

The Atlantic City Sea Dogs were the lone new rebrand for the S3 season in the GSB. AC took over what was left of the former Memphis Blues roster and ended up having a very successful first season in the league.

The team is co-owned by Love Lockdown, former Kentucky Reserve backup PG, and Hoe Jarris, former Portland Pioneer star PG, who helped shape up this brand to build a future in the league. Javier Munoz, Truck Ackles, Bismack, and Gen Shinobi were the only 4 players that returned from the old Memphis team and all played a huge part in the team’s success this season. Munoz had an all-star level season and was arguably the best playmaker in the league this season, finishing in the top 10 of MVP votes. Ackles had a monster sophomore season also finishing in the top 10 MVP votes and a top 5 finalist in both DPOTY and MIP awards. Bismack and Shinobi were very key bench players that played some heavy minutes at times.

Atlantic City also had 2 rookies for the entire season in Jason Voorhees and Cash Wallace. Voorhees was a solid role player that brought some height to the Sea Dogs roster on the wing, and Wallace is expected to land on an All-GSB All Rookie team after playing a combo forward role for the Sea Dogs this season. The team also made trades for both Greg Lake and Ricky Spyder this season. Lake is a former All-Star and scoring leader, who started to see his scoring production slowly come back. Spyder was a S2 All-Star starter that came over to AC and played a new role at PF for the team.

Jarris and Lockdown both also had solid seasons as the owners of the team. Lockdown was a nice backup PG for Munoz this season, and was a good defender for the team. Jarris is a candidate for an All-GSB and All-Defensive team this season showcasing his elite 2-way play also playing a new position at SG.

Atlantic City ended the season at 8-6 before being swept in the 1st round by #2 seed Ohio Shaman who’s roster consists of all S1 players. For a team with 2 S3 players and a few S2 players, they had an incredible first season in the league and should only get better in the future.
