GSB Trade Predictions

Boston Receives: Scout Mitchell (S&T)

Ohio Receives: Brum James and 15 IP

Ohio will be having to make some tough decisions this offseason with their roster likely to have cap problems with MVP Muddy Blunts going to a max contract. The first of two Shaman trades here sees their former S1 all-star go to Boston. The Shaman received Brum James who’s on a league minimum deal but has been a very solid player in the league and was a great 6th man for Boston putting up 12.8 points per game last season. Brum fits the mold of what Ohio likes to do with their wings in terms of score and play defense, and would be a great addition to keep the Shaman contenders still.

The Boston Militia have missed the playoffs both seasons in the league and should be aggressive this offseason. The team is still in search of a true star on the perimeter that can get them buckets whenever needed, and Scout has that potential to do so in Boston. Scout put up around 16 points per game during S1 and has been in double digits the last two seasons as well on a stacked Ohio roster. Mitchell can come in and be the #1 option in Boston and show that he still should be considered a star in this league. This trade would add 2 S1 players to Boston since they have already landed Aaron Hughes this offseason and would be a great improvement for this team to make a jump in the standings.

Kentucky Receives: Petey Wheatstraw

Michigan Receives: AR Jordan (S&T), S4 1st, and 10 IP

The Reserve made a huge improvement last season compared to the first two seasons as they ended the season 11-3 and were a #3 seed in the playoffs. Kentucky was eventually swept in the first round by Baltimore, but this team should be very excited about their future now they have playoff experience. Dime, Kobe, and Young 2.0 are all very solid players and now they go all-in bringing in a 2x all-star PF in Petey Wheatstraw. Wheatstraw is a perfect fit for this team in my opinion as he can be a top option for them in the starting lineup with those 3 players, or they can make him the go-to man off the bench and watch him still put up 12-15 points a night.

Michigan is another team you will see on here twice. They are in a full rebuild/retool mode and this is a great package to get them starter. AR Jordan has alway been solid and reliable for Kentucky, and is a S1 player as well which will be greatly valued in Michigan. Getting Jordan will also shed off around 5 million dollars off the salary cap on their current roster and getting extra IP to throw on a rookie will be a nice addition. Michigan also has some potential ghosts so adding another 1st will be critical for this team to round out their depth with some active guys.

Pittsburgh (Virginia) Receives: Jim C Williams

Seattle Receives: Tyrese White and 25 IP

Pittsburgh has some very solid players on their roster. Marvin Hymes Jr and Prince Revels were some of the top rookies in the league last season, and Bryant Buckets was a 2nd team all-defensive PF as well. The team is also bringing in Dex Matty who was a great scorer in his 2 seasons at Boston, and 7 foot power forward rookie Kolton Brady that will be adding some much needed big man depth for this team. This trade they get a true potential star and a much needed S1 player added on to their team. Tyrese White was very solid for them on the boards last season but was very much of a defender for them around the rim. Jim C comes into Pittsburgh standing at 7 '3, and if he gets the minutes and opportunities that White got last season I can see Jim C putting up an all-star and all-gsb caliber season.

The S3 champs will potentially have a tough situation on their hands this offseason if they have cap problems. I was between Butch Harrison or Jim C, but after watching Butch in the finals and knowing Seattle still has Mario Medici and Shane Nox I picked the Orcas sending Jim C off. If Seattle still plans to use Medici at PF then getting Tyrese White is a great consolation prize on a minimum contract to back up Shane Nox. White was a 2nd team rookie center this past season and will give them a 7 footer so they wont lose too much size.

Vice City Receives: Truck Turner and Anthony Simmons

Michigan Receives: Al Padraza, Emmanuel Blackman, and a S5 1st

The former S1 champs have seen their play consistently decline each season since with them missing the playoffs entirely last year. The Kings will be looking to get aggressive this offseason and what better way to then land arguably the best GSB player in history in Truck Turner. A 1-3 lineup of Truck Turner, King James, and Zima Blue is like the 2018 Golden State Warriors Big 3. The Kings could start all 3 and give their opposing team no chance to slow them all down at once, or they could start 2 and have one feast off the bench while they all come in at the end of games. Simmons gives them a solid starting power forward still or someone that has the size to play backup center if they think Tyler Detherage could be a starting PF.

With this trade Michigan will have 2 S1 PF’s to pair up with Bear Johnson and Grave Diggs in the front court which should be an excellent start towards retooling this team. Padraza is a 2x all-star that can get it done on both ends of the court and also play make for his team. The former #1 pick in S1 also gets the opportunity to finally be the man on a team as well. Blackman is no Truck Turner, but the S3 rookie did put up 9 points per game and 3 assists per game showing he has the potential to be a solid starting PG in the future.

Portland Receives: Greg Lake

Atlantic City Receives: Brody Cait and 15 IP

Portland lost 3 to retirement this offseason and could potentially lose some more to free agency if they don't retain them. The former S1 scoring champ has been looking to get his career back on track and what better way than going to a team that needs players and a star. Portland could offer Lake all the offensive opportunities he could dream of and teaming up with Devan Davis, Rashahi Ish, Pharoah Dotson, and potential Savage/Carter as well is still a team that can be very competitive as well.

Atlantic City sends off Lake to move Wallace back to his true small forward position and picks up a backup PF on a minimum contract that helps them re-sign their free agents. Cait was a first team all rookie PF this past season and would provide terrific depth for a team that could use some more size and front court depth.

Dallas Receives: Jerry Fiblin

Ohio Receives: Denzel Gordon, S5 1st, and 15 IP

The Flying Stallions took advantage of Ohio’s tough cap situation to land Filbin to give them a  much needed 3rd big on their roster. Fiblin has been very solid for Ohio all 3 seasons on their team after being drafted in the first round of S1. Fiblin would be a terrific backup for both Blaze and Tyree, as well as offer some spot starts as well. This kind of move could help Dallas get over the hump and past the 1st round of the playoffs.

Ohio picks up a S3 rookie PF that contributes to 4 boards a game and 3 assists per game in limited action. Gordon could be very well developed under the Ohio staff and getting an extra 15 IP in the trade could go towards his training as well. Ohio picks up 2 minimum contracts with their 2 trades here that gives them a great shot at retaining the other 8 players on their team.
