MVP! MVP! MVP!

Last Friday night (and no, I’m not talking about Katy Perry), the GSB Season 3 Award Show took place. The league’s finest crème de la crème brought home awards and accolades of all kinds after yet another “incredible” season of GSB basketball. But, of course, the only award that really matters is the League MVP right? The General Chat was in absolute chaos all night, with everyone debating stats, individual performances, and the craziest moments of the season. “Remember when so-and-so made that shot...during that game...against that team…” It was non stop chatter and banter, with notifications pinging incessantly.

Everyone and their dog had an opinion on who deserved an award this year. But, in the end, it’s the GSB Awards Committee that gets the final say, using a multitude of factors to determine the lucky few.

Now, without further ado, drumroll please, your GSB Season 3 MVP is the Ohio Shaman’s very own, Muddy Blunts. That’s right, the man who’s been lighting up the court like it’s 4:20 every game day. This is his first time winning the MVP, and with it, he joins the ranks of legends like Truck Turner (S1) and Anthony Stank (S2).

Muddy blazed through the season with 21.4 points per game (second-best in the league), 6.5 assists per game, all while playing a mere 23.6 minutes per night. He was highly efficient, shooting 55% from the field and a ridiculous 59% from beyond the arc. And let’s not forget, he was on point from the free-throw line, shooting a perfect 100%. Obviously, he took my legendary Free Throw 101 Webinar Series, now discounted to just $7.99 for the first 30 days, then only $29,193.16 a month after that. Seriously, I’m practically giving it away.

During the regular season, Muddy smoked the competition, having huge games against the Sea Dogs (27 points), New York Skyliners (34 points and 14 assists), Dallas Flying Stallions (31 points), Vice City Kings (34 points), Boston Militia (36 points), and Kentucky Reserve (28 points). He helped get the Shaman to a GSB Finals appearance, turning them from a fringe playoff team with tremendous upside into a legitimate solid threat to win it all. Muddy turned us all into believers.

After the MVP announcement, the Twitch chat and General Chat in Discord went up in smoke. Most people showered Muddy with adulation and congratulations. But, of course, some were less than pleased. One player went so far as to call GSB League Owner Nighthawk a “bum,” disgusted that his teammate had been “snubbed.” Another user, with probably some sense of irony, declared the system “rigged,” taking a jab at Tim Riggins, a key member of the Awards Committee, known in the league for his influence (and his impressive ability to be under the influence as well).

But hey, let’s not let Friday night’s drama overshadow the unbelievable season Muddy Blunts has had. He displayed every quality and factor worthy of this prestigious honor—and then some. Muddy really rolled up and delivered when it mattered most.
