The Rise of The Shaman

By Tim Riggins

Ohio has seen nothing but improvement each season as they are experiencing their first taste of the playoffs this season. The core has mainly been the same since the S1 draft, but still has all S1 players on their team. During the early seasons the team had players like Scout Mitchell who was an all star level player and EJ Bailey/Elias Machera who were very consistent players for the Shaman. However, it was never enough to get the team over the hump to reach the playoffs.

Fast forward to S3 and the Shaman look like a completely different team. Many can say the serious number of changes to the league help in their favor, but you can not discredit the amount of work and dedication this team has put in for them to be in their current position. Muddy Blunts has had a 180 turn in his production going from a bottom end S1 player to a S3 MVP candidate. Jordan Tribble has also improved every season and looks to be heading towards a potential All-GSB center selection. Machera, Bailey, and Scout all still play vital consistent roles in Ohio and are big time contributors. Full seasons with Marvin Metreaux and Bobby Bricks has taken the team chemistry to another level as well, as they seem to be fitting in perfectly with the team.

Staff members in Toy and Rusty have done a phenomenal job building up the players and roster, and finding ways to get the best of each player's talent this season. Ohio is favored to go to the Finals and even potentially win the whole thing this season. It has been an incredible turnaround and a fun story to watch the consistent improvement of this team.
