GSB S3 | Week 3

In our Thursday night showcase, the Sea Dogs are visiting the Martians in what should prove to be an interesting game. The Sea Dogs defied expectations and are currently 2-0 after defeating a good Baltimore team and the Skyliners in their opening 2 fixtures. During the GSB break, they made 2 high profile trades bringing in All-Stars Ricky Spyder and Greg Lake to join a surprisingly solid Sea Dogs roster.

The Martians come into this fixture at 1-1 after winning against the Stampede and being defeated by the reigning champion Oakland Otters. With no true superstar on the team this team will be looking for big contributions up and down the roster if they're going to beat the Sea Dogs.

Players To Watch

Ricky Spyder and Greg Lake

As previously mentioned, the Sea Dogs made 2 high profile trades bringing in Spyder and Lake. It will be interesting to see how the two new acquisitions will fit into the current system. Spyder is expected to line up as starting PF for the Sea Dogs while Greg, a natural scoring guard, will be rotating between a couple positions. Depending on the fit of these 2 former All-Stars, the Sea Dogs could be dangerous.

Truck Ackles

2nd season veteran Truck Ackles has been awfully impressive so far this season, landing himself on the Awards Ladders for both MVP and Most Improved Player. With big man Ricky Spyder joining the Sea Dogs, perhaps some of the rebounding responsibility will be relieved from Truck, but AC will still be looking for big contributions from him.

Justin Banks

Banks has been the top scorer for ABQ this season, scoring 17 points per game. He faces a tough matchup against Javier Munoz who's both a capable playmaker and an effective defender. Will Justin Banks be able to keep up his hot start to the season? His team will be looking to him to lead them as a primary playmaker and scorer.

Austin Weeler

Weeler is another Martian looking good to start the season, just 1 point and 1 rebound shy of averaging a double double. Together with Anthony Stover, they face a tough test against Truck Ackles and Gen Shinobi.
