GSB S3 | Week 2
The New York Skyliners come off of a rather surprising loss to the Atlantic City Seadogs. They’ll be definitively looking to shake off the week 1 jitters and get into regular season form for this one. New York has unfortunately lost some key pieces along the way recently, so will they be able to keep it together and pull out a win in week 2? We’ll see!
The Pioneers have to feel good after defeating a familiar foe in week 1 and will be back this week to keep that momentum rolling. Their work on the boards has been great, but ball control issues could come back to bite them. Can they keep their train rolling to beat a hungry New York team?
Players To Watch
King Maximus
I will be super interested to see how King Maximus can make an impact after being traded to New York from NOLA. He has big shoes to fill with the departure of Eli Simmons. He was a very big presence in the paint in his last game recording 3 big time blocks. Let’s see if he can keep it going in his new home,
Sarah Counterman
The x-factor, I believe, for New York. Counterman coming off if a mediocre game last week does NOT mean she should be taken lightly. Sarah has shown in the past that she can light up the court from just about anywhere. If left unchecked she could spell disaster for the Pioneers tonight.
Rae’Sean Carter
Perhaps the most underrated PF in the league, Carter looks to be on a mission this season get that recognition he deserves. He’s coming off of a almost perfect game vs a tough Seattle defense, so New York will need to make sure that Carter doesn’t heat up early.
Milton-Francis Heinkel
Many would say that the German Giant had a lackluster season 2, but last week he looked in top form with a stat sheet stuffed of a night. He’s shown that he was the number 1 draft pick last season for a reason. Should be a super fun matchup as he goes against the Spaghetti man himself, Angelo Marciano.
Prediction: New York: 95 - Portland: 106
